The guide

Nine ways to use castile soap

Dilute for baby

Can I use castile soap as baby wash?

Yes. It is unscented, so there is no perfume near baby's skin. Dilute it for the gentlest cleanse.

  • Patch test first. Keep it away from the eyes.
  • Mix 1 part soap with 10 parts water.
  • Newborns or reactive skin: ask your paediatrician first.
Ready to use

Can I use castile soap as body wash?

Yes. Use it straight from the bottle. A little goes a long way.

  • Lather on wet skin.
  • Rinse well.
  • Moisturise after, because soap is naturally alkaline.
Ready to use

Can I use it as hand soap?

Yes. One pump, lather and rinse.

  • Sulfate-free: a creamy lather, not big foam.
  • Unscented, so the whole family can share it.
  • Rinse well and moisturise if hands feel dry.
Small amount

Is castile soap good for the face?

It can be, with care. It is clinically tested and dermatologist-approved for normal and sensitive skin.

  • Use a small amount and avoid the eye area.
  • Patch test first. Stop if irritation occurs.
  • Moisturise after washing.
Ready to use

Can I use castile soap for shaving?

Yes. It makes a creamy lather with no added fragrance, which is kinder on freshly shaved skin.

  • Wet the skin first and lather a small amount.
  • Shave, then rinse well.
  • Moisturise after. Patch test first if your skin is sensitive.
Rinse well

Can castile soap wash hair?

Many people use castile soap on hair, and it can be used on baby's hair too.

  • It will not feel like shampoo packed with silicone oils.
  • Soap is alkaline, so hair can feel different at first.
  • It may not suit every hair type.
Ready to use

Can I use castile soap on my pet?

Yes. Pets lick their fur, so what you wash with can end up in their mouth. There are fewer unnecessary chemicals for them to swallow.

  • No sulfates, synthetic fragrance, dyes or silicones.
  • Avoid the eye area and rinse thoroughly.
  • Ask your vet if your pet has skin problems.
Ready to use

Can castile soap clean baby toys, cots and seats?

Yes. It cleans without harsh detergent.

  • Use a small amount on a damp cloth.
  • Rinse or wipe with clean water. Let toys dry fully.
  • Test a hidden spot first.
Ready to use

Can castile soap clean the home?

Yes. It cleans general surfaces, floors and dishes without harsh detergent.

  • Use a small amount on a damp cloth or sponge.
  • Rinse with clean water.
  • Never mix it with vinegar.

Yein&Young Organic Skincare SetReady to use. No mixing needed.

You do not need to dilute Yein&Young Castile Soap. Dilute it only when you want the gentlest cleanse for baby.

Straight from the bottle

Mix a fresh batch

If you dilute it, mix only what you need. Diluted soap has no preservatives.

Why unscented

Babies don't need fragrance

Fragrance does not clean anything. It is added for the adult nose, not for baby's skin. So we left it out completely, and that makes one bottle safe to share across the whole family.

It can irritate

Fragrance is one of the most common causes of skin reactions. Baby skin is thin and delicate.

It hides the list

On a label, the single word "fragrance" can stand for many ingredients.

Baby smells like baby

Newborns learn their parents' natural scent. Many parents like to keep it that way.

It adds nothing

A good wash needs soap and water, not perfume.

Unscented or fragrance-free? Some "unscented" products add a masking fragrance to cover smells. Yein&Young adds no fragrance of any kind.

What we left out, and why

Every ingredient is a choice. These are the ones we chose not to use.

No fragrance

It adds scent, not cleaning. It is a common cause of skin reactions.

No sulfates

They make big foam, but can strip the natural oils from delicate skin.

No colour

Dye does nothing for skin. It only makes the bottle look pretty.

No preservatives

Fewer added ingredients means fewer things that can irritate delicate skin.

No silicone oils

They coat skin and hair but do not clean. Some break down slowly in nature.

No synthetic detergents

Cleaning comes from plant-oil soap, not lab-made foaming agents.

Kind to nature

Good for your home. Good for the river.

Everything you wash off goes down the drain, into rivers and out to the sea. Yein&Young is made to go back to nature.

100% biodegradable

Plant oils that break down naturally.

Nature-bound

From olive, coconut and castor oil, and back to nature.

Reef and river safe

No sulfates, dyes, silicones or synthetic fragrance in the water.

Glass, not plastic

One bottle does the job of several products, and it is packed in glass.

What customers say

It cleanses oily skin without drying out my skin.Jerral K., Organic Liquid Castile Soap
I started using the Organic Liquid Castile Soap (3 times a week) and amazingly, it did not trigger any flaring.Jenjen J. Individual results vary.
I really enjoy using this soap. It lathers up well compared to other organic and castile soaps. I've noticed my skin has been extra soft and moisturised lately even without lotion (even my knees, elbows, and small patches of eczema on my hands). For an impulse purchase, it's brought a lot of benefits. Will definitely repurchase in the future!Aiqaira, Yein&Young customer
Doesn't dry out skin compared to other soap. As some one that has sensitive skin. This liquid soap does not make my skin itchy after a shower. Just wished that I encounter this soap earlier. No complains, I am sticking with this soap from now on.J****N
